MOSES Moyo, may be occupying the office of deputy Speaker of the National Assembly illegally as he is constitutionally barred from being appointed to the position because he is an Independent law maker, it has emerged.
Binwell Mpundu, the Nkana Independent law maker yesterday informed Speaker Nelly Mutti that the appointment of Mr Moyo as deputy Speaker of the National Assembly was in breach of the Constitution because the Independent law maker is constitutionally barred from being a presiding officer in the House.
But Speaker Mutti ruled that the appointment of Mr Moyo as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly should be referred to the Constitutional Court for interpretation because it was not within her jurisdiction to interpret the law click here to read more
