Govt commits to provide good ..accommodation for missions abroad

MINISTRY of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Permanent Secretary for Administration Hope Situmbeko has said the government is committed to providing cost-effective and good accommodation for its missions abroad.

Speaking when she inspected the construction of the new Zambian embassy chancery in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mrs Situmbeko expressed happiness at the progress made on the project.

She indicated that the Ministry would work tirelessly to implement the projects being undertaken through mortgage financing to ensure good accommodation in Zambia’s Missions. The Permanent Secretary urged Sileshi Consult and Contractor TNT, the company working on the Chancery, to ensure quality work and speedy completion of the project.

And Zambia Embassy Chargè d’ Affaires, Trevor Sichombo said the Mission was working closely with the Project Managers at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development, the Contractor, and the Consultant to address challenges faced and ensure that the project is completed in good time.

During her visit, Mr Situmbeko also paid a courtesy call to the Director General in charge of Africa at the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fesseha Shawel.
