POLICE in Kitwe have arrested four suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of a 22-year-old man in Kitwe in which his head was cut off.

Copperbelt police chief Charity Katanga confirmed the arrest of the four suspects whose names have not been disclosed, due to the on-going investigations.

Two days ago, the man was found dead in Racecourse township of Chimwemwe constituency and his attackers had decapitated him.

Ms Katanga said in an interview that investigations in the murder case were still going on, but refused to name the four suspects.

“Yes, I can confirm that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a 22-year-old Kitwe youth whose head was cut off,’’ Mr Katanga said.

Kitwe residents have appealed to police on the Copperbelt to intensify security patrols in the city and make sure justice was served on culprits.
