EXPOSE PF PRETENDERS – YALI

By KALOBWE BWALYA
THE Patriotic Front should introspect and expose members who are mere pretenders looking for a loophole to join the ruling party, Young African Initiative (YALI) executive director Andrew Ntewewe has said.

Mr Ntewewe wondered why some vocal PF officials have suddenly gone mute and have not been there for the party from the time it lost elections.

He said there was too much treachery being exhibited by some PF officials whose fate in the party were not yet clear.
Mr Ntewewe said pretenders should be exposed so that only genuine members remain as the party rebrands.
He said treachery acts were unacceptable and immoral as they only showed lack of loyalty to the party.

Mr Ntewewe said some politicians lack self-censorship, but only want to satisfy their egos by only associating with people in Government.
“The former ruling party has many pretenders, people pretending to be with the party when they are only looking for an opportunity to cross over to the ruling party,” he said in an interview.
Mr Ntewewe said at this stage there was a clear difference in ideologies between the PF and the UPND so everyone should stick to what they believe in.

He explained that UPND was purely a capitalist movement and whatever they did was based on that while the PF had more pro-poor policies anchored on a mix between socialism and capitalism.

He charged that UPND government had been pushing for a liberal agenda, therefore politicians should be sincere at times before they cross over to another camp.

“So, as a politician, you must be able to decide where you want to go. If you want to be a social democrat or a capitalist and at this stage the country does not expect politicians to be jumping to and from one political party to the other as the ideologies between PF and the UPND are so huge,” said Mr Ntewewe.
And Mr Ntewewe has urged the PF party to quickly get organised as the party still had many sympathizers.
He said before the people forget about the good works that the PF had done forthe people of Zambia, effective leadership was required to start mobilizing the party and move on quickly.
He said the process should not be too long, because people would begin to lose hope and faith in them.
