NATIONAL Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) secretary general Nonde Mubanga has called on Zambians to preserve peace and stability and appreciate the contributions of past and present leaders, including President Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr Mubanga said Zambians should recognise the contributions of different leaders who had served the country, regardless of their political affiliations.

“We must preserve the peace and stability that Zambia has enjoyed over the years and appreciate the contributions of our past and current leaders,” Mr Mubanga said.

He said President Hichilema was among the country’s leaders whose contribution to national development should be acknowledged.

“We should learn to appreciate our leaders, both past and present, including President Hakainde Hichilema, because leadership is part of our country’s history,” he said.

Mr Mubanga said political differences should not be allowed to undermine national unity, adding that Zambians had a collective responsibility to safeguard peace.

“We may belong to different political parties and hold different views, but we are all Zambians, and our country must come first,” he said.

He urged political leaders and their supporters to promote tolerance and respect for one another, saying peaceful coexistence was essential for the country’s continued development.

“Let us put the interests of Zambia first and continue working together to protect our peace and stability for the benefit of present and future generations,” Mr Mubanga said.
