North to get another district – PS

NORTHERN Province will soon have a new district, Northern Province Permanent Secretary Elias Kamanga has revealed.

Mr Kamanga said Lupososhi in Luwingu district is expected to be given district status.

He noted that this would bring the total number of new districts to four, created by PF Government since its inception in 2011.

“Government under the leadership of President Edgar Lungu is ready to create a new district in Northern Province, this will bring the number of newly created districts to four, namely; Nsama, Nsenga, Lunte and the one to be created Lupososhi,” Mr Kamanga said.

And the Permanent Secretary has appealed to the people of Northern Province to give the PF Government chance and support to complete all the projects it started in the province.

He cited projects like the Kasama Airport, Kasama General Hospital to be upgraded to Central Hospital, the Northern University and the Nseluke-Mpulungu Railway line, among others, which were being worked on in the province.

“There are a lot of projects that Government has initiated in the Province and for them to be completed and on time, there is need for support and cooperation from the people of Northern Province.

“Government needs your support, so let’s work with them and give them the support so that all these beneficial projects which they started since 2011 can be completed,” he said.
