MTN-FAZ AWARDS UP FOR GRABS

THE MTN-FAZ awards are on this evening at Kitwe’s Moba Hotel with Lusaka Dynamos forward Chris Mugalu up against  Zanaco duo of midfielder Augustine Mulenga and goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata competing for the prestigious 2017 Footballer of the Year award.   

Mugalu, who is already assured of the Golden Boot award with 20 goals to his name was influential to Dynamos impressive performance despite failing to finish in the top four.  But he faces, Mulenga who showed remarkable form and was a key player in Zanaco lifting the maiden Barclays Cup title together with Nsabata who was outstanding between the posts this season.Apart from the Footballer of the Year award, Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba will be up for the Coach of the Year award against Nkana mentor Beston Chambeshi and Green Buffaloes Bilton Musonda.

And 2014 Player of the Year winner Nkana striker Ronald Kampamba is lined up for the most Disciplined Player of the Year award with Zesco United midfielder Kondwani Mtonga and Zanaco’s Ziyo Tembo.

City of Lusaka striker Edward Tembo, Nkwazi’s Lameck Banda and Mufulira Wanderers Chrispin Sakulanda will battle for the Young Player of the Year award.

Referee of the Year award will be contested by Janny Sikazwe, Gladys Lengwe and Wisdom Chewe.
