PF is dead, will not be resurrected – Makwembo

THE Patriotic Front (PF) is a dead organisation which the people overwhelmingly rejected at the ballot, and therefore, no amount of rebranding or propaganda will make it bounce back to power, Southern Province chairperson Billard Makwembo has said.

Mr Makwembo said Zambians already made up their mind never again to return the PF to power because it abused the mandate they were given from 2011 to 2021.

He said the UPND was not bothered by PF propaganda against President Hakainde Hichilema and his administration because it was only meant to deceive the people that the government was not living to its promises when the opposite was the truth.

He said the PF committed a lot of atrocities against the people of Zambia, and it was too early for the former ruling party to start thinking about rebranding and bouncing back to power especially at a when the new dawn administration is rebuilding the nation.

He said said Zambians have not forgotten how the PF pushed the dangerous bill 10, that almost plunged the  country to become a one party participatory state by coming up with very well sugar coated bills that could have shifted powers of making and changing laws to cabinet.

Mr Makwembo said the desperation by PF is very alarming and leaves much to be desired especially that the former party not only destroyed the country’s democracy while in power but also made decisions that almost divided the people Zambia on tribal lines.

He said the country has not forgotten how the PF mismanaged the country through corruption, sponsored violence and propaganda against the opposition especially the UPND.   Mr Makwembo warned PF leaders against abusing the freedoms they given to them by the new dawn government which themselves denied Zambians during their time in power.
