VEEP SETS RECORD STRAIGHT ON INVESTIGATIVE WINGS THAT HAVE BEEN PLACED UNDER THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT

VICE President Mutale Nalumango has told Parliament that there was nothing wrong with the office President providing oversight control over investigative wings such as the Anti Corruption Commission.

The Vice President was responding to Mwembeshi member of Parliament, Jamba Machila, who wanted to know if the vice president was ready to furnish the house with government’s position on GAZETTE Notice No 1123 which has placed the Anti Corruption Commission and the Financial and Economic Crimes Commission under the oversight of the office of the President.

In her response, Vice President Nalumango said the President was the executive and was therefore in order to provide oversight leadership to investigative wings and other related bodies that fell under the mandate of the executive wing of government.
