Kalumbila twins survive road accident

Three weeks old twins have survived a road traffic accident at Kayonge area of Kalumbila district in North-Western Province.
Acting Kalumbila District Commissioner, Frank Siatwinda confirmed the incident to ZANIS around 19:00 hours in Kalumbila last evening.
Mr Siatwinda said he has visited some of the victims at Lumwana first level hospital.
“I have visited some of the victims at Lumwana hospital…five female adults, one male adult and the three weeks old infants. Some victims have been taken to Solwezi general hospital for medical attention,” he said.
He said the victims visited at Lumwana hospital are in a stable condition with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, by press time, ZANIS found Kayonge community members guarding a wreck of a Toyota Hiace registration number AIB 7013.
And eyewitness, John Mukanda narrated how the accident happened.
“I saw a tire come off the bus while it was in motion and afterwards it flipped about four times before it rested…this happened around 17:00 hours,” Mr Mukanda said.
He said fortunately, no fatalities were recorded at the scene of the accident.-ZANIS
