KAWAMBWA district is quickly transforming into an economic hub of Luapula Province due to the numerous economic activities being carried out by Government, says district commissioner, Ivo Mpasa.

Mr Mpasa said Government had performed well in delivering development to the district.

“Government has done enough in terms of economic development, especially in the aspect of infrastructure development,” he said.

Mr Mpasa said this when he handed over letters of appointment to members of the newly formed technical committee which has been mandated to formulate Kawambwa District’s Economic Profile to be showcased at the forthcoming Luapula Expo and Investment Conference.

He also explained that Kawambwa had enough rains, good soils and favourable weather conditions that made it an agricultural powerhouse.

“We co-own Lumangwe Falls and exclusively own the Ntumbacushi Falls which make us a tourism centre,” he said.

And the district commissioner said Luapula Province would not be the same after the Expo next month. Mr Mpasa hailed the provincial administration for initiating the Expo which was the first of its kind at provincial level.
