GOVERNMENT is committed to providing a robust environment for the financial sector because it is key in economic development, says North-Western Province Minister, Nathaniel Mubukwanu.
Mr Mubukwanu said Government was mindful that the availability of a robust financial service environment could contribute to economic development
The Minister said this during the official relocation and re-launch of the Atlas Mara Solwezi branch.
He said that the financial services offered the general public the means to develop income generated activities as well improve house hold incomes.
“I wish to reiterate Governments role to create an enabling and conducive environment for a diversified and inclusive economy. All those interested are more than welcome to participate in the actualization of the North Western Province economic dream,” he said.
Mr Mubukwanu commended Atlas Mara for its commitment to North Western Province and encouraged the institution to continue leveraging technology to deliver its products and services.
Atlas Mara Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Eric Ngondo, said the refurbishment had come at an investment of over K350, 000.
Mr Ngondo said Atlas Mara’s priority was to give the people of Solwezi a world class customer experience befitting a Provincial Capital.
“Atlas Mara Bank has continued to maintain the biggest branch and ATM network in the North Western Province with four state of the art branches in: Solwezi, Kabompo, Mwinilunga, and our newest branch in Zambezi,’ he said.
Mr Ngondo said Atlas Mara Bank was aware that not everyone could afford to maintain a Bank Account and hence the introduction of a mobile money solution much like MTN Money and Airtel Money which enabled widespread financial inclusion for all Zambians which we call ‘Tenga Mobile Money’.
