Council role critical – Mayor

NDOLA Mayor Amon Chisenga has said  the local authority plays a critical role in ensuring that there is trade enhancement in the country by providing support services to institutions such as the Zambia International Trade Fair (ZITF).

Mr. Chisenga said the ZITF presents a platform for local and regional and international exhibitors to interact with a common view of creating sustainable business opportunities.

Mr. Chisenga said that the ZITF offers opportunities for business initiations of transformations that may spill into formidable innovations which can in the long run propel economic prosperity.

He said Ndola City Council (NCC) will ensure that an enabling environment is created to facilitate business partnerships between companies and entrepreneurs, local and foreign.

“Ndola is the host of the ZITF which gives access to global markets. The fair does encourage trade partnerships and it is important for companies to participate in such shows as they are premier forum.

It promotes trade and investment and createS business opportunities that can help in business expansions. This scenario may lead to soaring of business profits,” he said.

Mr. Chisenga said that business innovations promote exchange of experience as well as knowledge on business trends locally, regionally and internationally.

He has commended government on the various policies that it has continued to formulate to ensure economic growth.

He has described this year’s trade fair show as a success.

This year’s  ZITF is themed “innovation for industrialization” and has attracted 14 foreign companies and 423 local exhibitors.
