SENIOR COPS FIRED, RETIRED FROM SERVICE

ABOUT 54 senior police officers, including former President Edgar Lungu Aide De Camp Chanda Chisanga and director of operations Edwin Bwanga have either been retired in national interest or separated from the Police Service with immediate effect.

Among others that have been separated are Dr Fred Mulenga, Dolnard Mwandila, Musonda Luvious, Patrick Bili, Edwin Chisi and Bothwell Namuswa.

And according to a letter from the Zambia Police Service Commission to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affair and Internal Security, some of the officers were retired in the national interest.

“I wish to inform you that the Zambia police Service Commission acting in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the President has directed that the following officers be separated from the service with immediate effect. The guidance for the separation should be as follows; those that have attained mandatory or early retirement or long service be separated accordingly. The others should be separated in National Interest,” read part of the letter.
