EXPELLED Patriotic Front Roan member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has been implicated in the tender process for the construction of the US$4 million ultra-modern 20,000-seater Mongu Stadium in Western Province when he was Minister of Information.

According to an entrepreneur, Munir Zulu, the US$4m project which was in Mr Kambwili’s hands, was marred with corrupt activities.

But when contacted for comment, Mr Kambwili said as minister of Youths and Sports his ministry was never involved in handling the project.

Mr Kambwili said the project was handled by the Minister of Works and Supply Mr Yamfwa Mukanga and challenged the Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate him if they wanted.

Mr Kambwili also warned Mr Zulu that he would be injured along the way for the battle that he had decided to join because he was a small boy.

Speaking during a joint press briefing in Lusaka yesterday at Christma Hotel, Mr Zulu said because corruption was involved in the Mongu stadium deal, President Michael Chilufya Sata then refused to officiate at the ground breaking ceremony because the project was marred with corrupt activities.

Mr Zulu said Mr Kambwili’s firm Mwamoneni Investments must be investigated by the law enforcement agencies to clear dubious speculations.

He has threatened to publish all the emails involving business transactions of Mr Kambwili’s firm.

Mr Zulu said he was surprised that Mr Kambwili accused the Head of State of having amassed blood or dirty money in a shortest period of time when had failed to explain how he built the multimillion Kwacha flats at Golf Courset on the Copperbelt.

He challenged Mr Kambwili to respond to everything that he (Zulu) had exposed about Mr Kambwili.

And a PF sympathiser Ibrahim Kabwe Mwamba said Mr Kambwili wanted to play a “Good boy type of politics” after being fired on corrupt grounds.

Mr Mwamba has appealed to Copperbelt minister Bowman Lusambo to carryout investigations on how Mr Kambwili managed to get contracts on the Copperbelt.

He said as far as PF youths were concerned Mr Kambwili was an independent candidate and were only waiting for the courts of law before they could face him in Roan constituency.

Meanwhile, Copperbelt PF media committee member Simon Njovu warned Mr Kambwili to immediately stop talking about the Black Mountain.
