GOVERNMENT has flagged off the disbursement of Social Cash Transfer for the November and December 2021 payment cycle

Minister of Community Development and Social Services, Doreen Mwamba said the Social Cash Transfer programme has proved to be a very critical programme in meeting basic needs of the incapacitated and vulnerable households. She said this yesterday when she witnessed the disbursement to the beneficiaries in Lusaka at Twashuka Primary School in Kanyama Township.Ms Mwamba stated that the increase in budget allocation for 2022 will facilitate a more systematic improvement in the scale up of social assistance as fulfillment of the promise made by the new dawn administration to serve the most vulnerable, who are the children, the aged, persons with disabilities and the chronically ill in an improved manner.“Let me assure you that the challenges that the programme might have faced will soon be a thing of the past, we are transforming institutional systems to enable solutions to foster prudent financial management and visibility,’’ she said.Ms Mwamba disclosed that the ministry has deployed the Microsoft Dynamics 365 accounting package that will enable it to view and report all transactions in real-time for all the districts.“This will enhance the accountability and transparency of the social cash transfer programme and ensure that all stakeholders are able to track the processes end to end,” she said.
