UK-based Zambian Chieftainess on charity path

United Kingdom(UK) -based Zambian Chieftainess, Cynthia Mulayantanda Oba – Williams says she will continue offering support and empowerment to young people to honor her royal recognition.

Chieftainess Cynthia Oba Williams was given the title last year for her humanity and benevolence towards others, and her passionate interest in the course of mankind via philanthropic acts on the needy and less privileged in the Uneme Community.

” I earned my Royal recognition *by His Royal Highness, King M.O.B Braimoh JP: The Ogienoruele 1, Clanhead of the Central Uneme Communities in Akoko Edo local government area, Edo State, Nigeria,” she said adding that she is thrilled to be the first Zambian woman and foreigner to receive such an aristocratic honour.

And to mark International Women’s Day, she coordinated a group of women to support 20-year-old Zambian lady Taonga Tizyole to pay for her 1st semester to pursue a diploma in Purchasing and Supply at Evelyn Hone College in Lusaka and to assist her with accommodation on the site.

Chieftainess Cynthia who is also deputy director of fundraising at Zambians Together UK is a proud winner of the UK Zambians Excellence Professional Award, for 2020 and an Executive member of AZNUK (Association of Zambian Nurses in the UK).

She says she is also proud and honoured to have met His Excellency, President Hakainde Hichilema on his trip to London in November 2021.

” I look forward to have more opportunities to meet the President to discuss matters of national interest especially healthcare in Zambia,” she said.

Meanwhile, award winner and CEO of Fab Galore Trend, Carol Kangwa Mbonshi, one of the donors, met Taonga at Evelyn Hone College to ensure her admission.

“This empowerment for Taonga is way of encouraging love and portray a positive gesture from our Zambians in the Diaspora,” she said.
