FORMER Deputy Inspector General of Police, Charity Masambo Katanga through her lawyers has filed in the Lusaka Magistrate Court that Chief Resident Magistrate, Davies Chibwili erred at law when he put her on defence instead of acquitting her at no case to answer stage.
Katanga has applied for the indulgence of the Lusaka Magistrate Court to grant her bail pending the determination of her appeal before the Lusaka High Court.
This was after the Economic and Financial Crimes Court convicted and sentenced her to three years simple imprisonment on Monday.
Katanga wants to appeal over her three year sentence in a matter she is charged with corrupt practices involving more than K26 million.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
