dpp under pressure to resign

THE Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gilbert Phiri is under pressure to resign for displaying open partisanship for among other things alleged selective prosecution for hate speech and irregular procedures where accused are not allowed to cross examine witnesses and accusers.

And yesterday Sean Tembo announced that he would be reporting Mr Phiri to the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) for allegedly having turned his office into a branch of the UPND from which he has abused his authority by refusing to grant consent for prosecution to persons who are affiliated and members of the ruling party.
