police have arrested a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) officer, Lieutenant Colonel Elvin Mulwazi, 54, of Obama in Chelstone area.
This is in connection with a fatal road traffic accident in which an unknown male person aged between 25 and 30 of unknown address sustained fatal injuries after being hit in a hit-and-run road traffic accident.
Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale said the incident occurred on February 10, 2023 around 19:30 hours along Twin Palm Road near Petroda filling station in Lusaka.
He further stated that Police officers at Ibex Police station were informed by concerned members of the public and managed to rush the victim to the University Teaching Hospitals where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Mr Mwale said the ZAF officer who has been on the run was handed in to the police by his employers today.
“Investigations were instituted into the incident and the suspect who has been on the run, has been brought to the Police today, February 12, 2023 at 08:30 hours by his employers,” Mr. Mwale disclosed.
He added that the suspect is currently detained in Police custody while the body of the deceased is in the UTH mortuary awaiting formal identification.
