Police pick up body with missing organs

ANOTHER man of Lusaka’s paradise area in Matero Township has been killed in yet another suspected ritual murder, police spokesperson Esther Mwata Katongo confirmed yesterday.

Ms Katongo said the body was discovered around 04:30 hours by members of the public without private parts, ears and a ripped stomach.

She confirmed that a 29-year-old man of the same area had been apprehended and was in police custody in connection with the case. “We have apprehended a man aged 29 of the same area who was found washing some blood off his hands and upon searching his home two pairs of trousers and a pair of shoes all stained with blood were discovered,” she said.

Ms Katongo added that police found items that resemble human parts but are yet to be confirmed until after forensic investigations are done.

Meanwhile, some irate residents burnt down the house of the suspected ritual killer who in police custody.

She has however, appealed to the public to remain calm. The body of the deceased is in the University Teaching Hospital awaiting postmortem.
