TRADE Kings Foundation has gifted patients at Our Lady Hospice in Kalingalinga, Lusaka with end of year hampers comprising assorted products.
Group Public Relations and Corporate Affairs Manager, Bridget Kambobe, said the foundation has been rendering help to people in various sectors of life as part of their corporate social responsibility but the Our Lady Hospice is different because it is given to people who are physically weak who also deserve some love.
Ms. Kambobe said the group recognise the role and work hospices do in looking after people who are destitute and do not even have people to look after them.
She said the foundation therefore chose to share the happiness with such people.
“And as we continue growing the business, for us it is not just about manufacturing products that are of good quality, the importance that we have placed on livelihoods is because our products are about people,” she said.
And the Our Lady Hospice administrator, Moses Mwamba, thanked the group for the continued support.
Dr. Mwamba said the hospice was built in 2000 to supplement Government’s efforts in taking care of people who are chronically ill.
He said in the past, the hospice used to receive a lot of foreign aid and they were able to take care of the patients very well but of today they do not have any donors.
Dr. Mwamba said the hospice needs support to run efficiently.
