A WOMAN who was accommodated by her father, after separating with her husband, has vowed never to leave because she has nowhere to go.

Margret Mukwakwa, 25, of Kanyama compound, who was jointly sued with Karen Manyoni, 48, said this in a case in which her father Christopher Mukwakwa, 55, of Monze sued them to vacate his house.

Mukwakwa told Kanyama local court senior magistrates Abbyshine Michelo and Esther Mulomba that Margret is his fifth child and that Karen was his wife’s sister.

He explained that he had wanted to sell the house two years ago but Margaret kept saying there were no buyers.

Mukwakwa said he called his friend who told him that Margret said the house was not for sale.

In defence, Margret said that she lived in Zanimuone with her husband and after they separated, Mukwakwa told her to occupy the house on June 25, 2017.

She said she only stayed in the house for three months when her father sent his friend, only identified as Mwakoi, to inform her that Mukwakwa was selling the house to raise money for her siblings’ university fees.

“I refuse to vacate the house because Mukwakwa is my biological father. I am going to suffer including my siblings who are at the farm where there are no title deeds,’’ Margaret said.

Karen said that she occupied the house in 2013 when her in-law, Mukwakwa, took her there.

She said she did not refuse to vacate the house.

Passing judgment, the court said Mukwakwa was the legal owner of the house and that Margaret had no legal basis to stop him selling the property.

The magistrates observed that Margaret was able bodied and that she should look for something to do to fend for herself.

The court gave Margaret and Karen up to December 30 to vacate the house.
