FURTHER video evidence has emerged showing that the HH convoy/motorcade repeatedly refused to yield to police sweeper motor vehicles that attempted to clear the road as the presidential motorcade drove towards Limulunga.

At one stage, one of the escort vehicles with sirens and lights on attempted to nudge HH’s vehicles off the road but this was met with expletives from the body guards who were perched on both sides of the car.  They shouted insults at the police.

This contradicts a statement by UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma who suggested that HH and his convoy were not aware of the presidential motorcade, otherwise they would have given way.

But according to the video, more than three sweeping vehicles approached the UPND convoy made up of a number of cars led by HH’s vehicle, were cruising in the left hand lane.

The initial sweep vehicles hooted and with sirens blaring attempted to alert the convoy to yield and give way to the
presidential motorcade.

The efforts were met with derision from the UPND cadres who maintained speed and position on the road forcing the presidential motorcade to overtake using the right hand lane and for some distance the HH’s vehicle was head to head with President Lungu’s presidential car.

There was no effort whatsoever to yield even though both the driver and the passenger in the vehicle could clearly see the presidential pendant and the full escort that accompanied the vehicle.

Most damning, however, were the insults hurled at the police and vehicle accompanying the President which were clearly audible in a recording that was made from a very vantage
position.
