The ball is in HH’s hands

 Dear Editor,

Now that there appears to be a glimpse of hope for the famous reconciliatory talks between HH and President Lungu, allow me to say something on the same.

For me I think the starting point is for HH to accept the 2016 elections results and recognize President Lungu as the duly elected Zambian republic president and the rest will be porridge.

So the ball is in HH’s hands and I am sure after all these emissaries, including the Church, he should seriously reflect about  his future and life instead of playing to the unpromising gallery.

If he continues to be obstinate he has everything to lose. HH should remember that he has a family and business concerns to look after and which may crumble if he stays longer in incarceration. The choice is his not President Lungu’s.

HH should remember that in life there are some limits and one cannot be always the winner.

Life is about giving and taking. With this development, even if the courts find him guilty of treason, President Lungu has power to release him constitutionally. That is the beauty of humbleness.

Imagine if HH was let out of prison tomorrow! He will have all the time to reorganise UPND which for now appears to be a headless chicken, without direction.  He would also be in a better position to mend whatever damage has been done to his business empire

Again 2021 is just round the corner. Let him put everything in the hands of God who will do the rest.
