FALLY IPUPA LIGHTS UP ZAMBIA INDEPENDENCE, URGES ORIGINALITY

CELEBRATED Congolese musician and rhumba maestro Fally Ipupa gave Zambians that attended the Misty Summer Experience music concert on the eve of Independence a real treat to light up their celebrations.

The singer who was making another of his many performance visits to Zambia was the real deal for the highly-publicized and corporate-related show that was held at Lusaka’s Misty Bar and Restaurant, Levy Shopping Mall.

This show which also lined up three acts from local artistes that included Danny Kaya and sensational singer and wonder boy Afunika, was well-attended and specifically dedicated to Zambia’s independence.

With Fally aware of the importance of independence to Zambia, his performance was not short of encouraging words to the audience. He actually got on stage after 22 hours following a dedicated performance from first Danny and later Afunika.

With an over 12-member band including three female dancers, all clad in red and black as though to emphasize on the struggle for independence by black people, Fally’s entry to the stage was enchanting.

Looking all glamorous in tight grey pants matching with a jacket on white top, Fally’s confidence grew with continuous applause from the audience that also included former Zambia National Soccer Team coach Herve Rena.

The singing was on point and so was the routine dancing from Fally and team which led to many people enjoying the moment. Requests to several of his popular songs were also attended to but it was the dance challenge posed on the single female members of the audience that was more exciting.

On this one, Fally called upon some females to dance with him on stage, a move that added color to the whole celebration. After performing for close to three hours, Fally ended in grand style with most concert attendees describing the show as a worthwhile experience for summer.

Meanwhile, Fally called on Zambian artistes to maintain originality and embrace African culture if they are to make it big on international stage. This he said during a press briefing on Saturday that helped him interact with members of the press.
