I WILL fight hard and ensure that I break into the senior team because my dream has always been to be a member of the main Spartak Moscow team, says Under-2o prolific centre-forward Fashion Sakala.

Sakala said in less than a year he knew the doors were still open for him to achieve his dreams.

Sakala, who has scored five times for the reserve team in 11 matches, said he has had a good time for his club and believed that as long as he continued working hard, he would achieve his objective in less than a year.

He said he will continue to work hard and fight for a slot in the senior team as he was not yet at the level of professionalism he desired, adding that only self-belief and determination will propel him to the senior team.

“I have good dreams. I am not yet on the desired level and I’m still fighting for my position. Any time soon I will break into the main team because I have been dreaming of playing for the first team,

“I have had a good time here and I feel there is still room for me to break into the senior team and this is something that I really want and I will keep fighting. I believe in myself and I know I will do it. It won’t be more than a year,” Sakala said.

Sakala was an integral part of Under-20 coach Beston Chambeshi’s squad in the 2016 COSAFA competition in December which they won in South Africa before the team was crowned continental champions early this year and consequently qualified to the World Cup where they ended their campaign in the quarter- finals after being eliminated by Italy.

Sakala is one of the junior players who have been fused in the national team by coach Wedson Nyirenda and made his full debut on September 2, against Algeria in the World Cup qualifying match at the National Heroes Stadium which Zambia won 3-1.

Unfortunately, he did not complete the match as he was given marching orders in the 55th minute after accumulating two yellow cards and consequently missed the return match three days later away in Algeria which Zambia won 1-0 to fancy its chances of qualifying to the maiden global showpiece at senior level.
