‘Presidents needs disability advisor’

By TAWANDA MUNYUKI

THERE is need for President Hakainde Hichilema to have a presidential advisor at State House who will be able to offer advice to the Head of State and ministers on disability inclusion.

Mr Chooma says for the head of state to fully be able to understand the challenges that persons with disabilities go through, it is important that there is someone at State House directly informing and offering him advice.

He says this is critical in ensuring that the challenges affecting persons with disabilities are addressed.

Mr Chooma says the disability movement is hopeful that this will be looked into to improve the rights of people with disabilities.

Meanwhile, Mr Chooma has raised concern over the delay in the construction of the center of excellence for children with disabilities.

Mr Chooma says they have engaged the Ministry of Education but the institution still remains incomplete.

He says the facility is now been vandalised which will delay further its completion period.
