WE’ LL FOLLOW THE LAW ON BLACK MOUNTAIN OPS- UPND

By KETRA KALUNGA
WE are not going to allow lawlessness in whichever form it may show its ugly face in the operations at the Black Mountain but follow what the government has guided, the UPND leadership on the Copperbelt have said.

Mines Minister Paul Kabuswe recently suspended mining activities at all dumpsites popularly known as black mountain, until order was restored.

UPND deputy Information and Publicity Secretary, Godfrey Kamangu said youths either from the party or opposition parties must abide by the directive from the minister, until further notice.

Mr. Kamangu said in an interview that recent reports that UPND youths in Kitwe protested over ownership of the black mountain were mere fabrication from those from the PF regime who were operating from the site.

“None of our youths are taking over operations at the black mountain not until the Mines minister, Paul Kabuswe gives direction. All those anxious about the operations at the black mountain should keep calm and wait for the minister to give direction, that is the provincial position,” he said.

He said those alleging the UPND youths want to take over the operations are PF cadres who now want to dent the image of the ruling party.
Mr. Kamangu said it’s only Mr. Kabuswe, who in his capacity as minister suspended the operations, who would lift the suspension.
