PF defends defections

ASSERTIONS by the NDC that the recent defections from the opposition to the Patriotic Front are stage managed is confirmation that the opposition is failing to see reality, says Matero constituency vice-secretary Mwamba Salubusa.

Mr Salubusa challenged the NDC to prove the so-called calculated scam by the PF to entice members of the opposition to join the ruling party on allegations that money had exchanged hands.

Mr Salubusa who is Kapwepwe 25 councillor, told the Daily Nation yesterday that it was a fact that the PF in the last four days had received numerous defectors among them councillors.

Mr Salubusa observed that it was easy to form a political party and make it popular via social media but that it was difficult to come up with branches and sections with a voter’s card as a qualification.

He said that NDC secretary general Musenge should know that there was no presence of the NDC in Matero constituency except a few individuals who left with former MP Miles Sampa but felt too embarrassed to return to the boat after Mr Sampa returned.
