Lying Mast Censured

PATRIOTIC Front youth in Kafue, Doreen Mumba, has rubbished a statement attributed to her in the Mast Newspaper that youths in that district have been denouncing President Edgar Lungu’s leadership.

And Ms Mumba has demanded that The Mast retracts the article attributed to her failure to which she will seek legal redress.In an interview with the Sunday Nation, Ms Mumba said the story was not true and described the publisher as ‘stupid’ for putting words in her mouth.

“It is not true, I don’t know these people, they are just ‘stupid’ because they never called me,” Ms Mumba said.

On Friday, The Mast Newspaper published an article on front page under screaming headline “You have failed the PF” … “the party is dying due to your poor leadership, Kafue Youths tell Lungu”.

“Mr. President, we the PF youths in Kafue feel you have failed the PF party due to your poor leadership. Your Excellency, you are seeing and hearing wrong things from the secretary general and individuals and you pretend all is well,” read part of the article attributed to Ms Mumba.

Ms Mumba explained that she decided to rubbish the statement because there was only one Doreen Mumba among the PF youths in Kafue district.

“Since they quoted Doreen Mumba and I don’t know any other Doreen Mumba apart from myself I want to put record straight that I never issued any statement to The Mast Newspaper,” he said.  Ms Mumba said at no time did she ever issue such a statement to The Mast Newspaper.

 “I cannot denounce my President that is the reason why I came to Lusaka today at 06:00hours so that I can denounce that statement,” she said.

And MMD national treasurer Christopher Banda has reminded the PF leadership that the cartel was still alive and kicking searching for weaker souls to use in its fight against President Lungu.

Mr. Banda said it was no longer surprising or shocking to see the cartel targeting the youth leadership and the general membership in the PF to create confusion in a bid to fight President Lungu and other leaders.

He said the youths in the PF should know that they were now the main target of the cartel for abuse to fight the leadership in the PF by attacking President Lungu and the entire rank.
