GOVERNMENT has appointed a new board for the Zambia National Building Society (ZNBS) and has named renowned businessman and private sector captains of industry, David Nama as the chairperson.

Minister of Finance Felix Mutati named the other members of the board as Jane Kabwela, Michael Gondwe, Reuben Mutolo, Anne Chikwanda, George Chisanga and Raymond Mpundu.

The minister said the new board needed to urgently review the institution’s business model and prioritize the development of quality but affordable housing.

“In order for Zambia to build sustained wealth among the working-age-population, we need to deliver services and goods that are affordable; now, and in future,“ he said.

And the newly appointed ZNBS Board Chairperson, David Nama said the task given to his board was attainable because the government has already set the platform with the creation of new districts and the prioritization of socio-infrastructure in the economic stabilization and growth programme.
