MUKONDO EYES LUSAKA MAYOR SEAT

PATRIOTIC Front publicity desk Chief Administrator, Chendela Mukondo, says he has a bag full of plans to change the face of Lusaka if elected as mayor if he is adopted by the party.

Mr Mukondo said he decided to join the race so that Lusaka could become a better and developed place than it is.

He said he knew all the challenges that Lusaka was faced with and he has tangible solutions to make the city an attractive destination for investors in various sectors of the economy.

Mr Mukondo said he has numerous developmental plans to enhance the outlook of Lusaka to an advanced and admirable city.

He said among the projects he wants to embark on is to increase the number of sewer ponds in the city because the population of Lusaka has continued to grow, hence the need to have more sewer ponds

He said that sewer ponds in garden compound also need to be upgraded into a modern pond just like the Chamba valley sewer ponds.

Mr Mukondo said once ushered into office, this would be one of the priority areas that his office will attend to.

He said that to administer Lusaka which he said is an epicenter for all cities in the country, one has to live above odd.

“For one to administer this sensitive city in the sense that it is where the President and all ministers are found, the person has to be fatherly and has to know that he is operating on behalf of the republican president.

“One cardinal thing is to study the decentralization document, study it adequately so that you become the right handman of the President,” he said. Mr Mukondo assured the voters that he will create opportunities for women and youths through different viable cooperatives.

Mr Mukondo said other sectors that he will give priority is to extend road infrastructure projects in the city that the government has massively embarked on.

 “We need to extend road projects which the government has massively developed. Another priority is securing graveyards. Most graveyards have been encroached so it is important that we secure these sensitive areas, “he said.

Born in 1978, Mr Mukondo is a son of former Deputy Commissioner Police, a lawyer by profession, his mother Faustina Mubanga a house wife, and both Bemba’s from Northern Province under Makasa and Chief Mwamba respectively.

He is a Project Management financial Expert with more than 17 years vast experience in Banking, Public Private Partnership Project Management and Projects Monitoring, Financial Project Analysis, General Project PPPP – Management, with great Interest in Project Lease Financial management and Project Finance.

Between 2011-2015 he was vice Chairman for Lusaka Province BTOAZ (Bus and Taxi Drivers Owners Association of Zambia).
