Ignore the lies about Miles’ suspension – PF

…says claims that the party is disintegrating are but a figment of those who are being haunted by the popularity of the party

THERE will be a number of divergent views about the suspension of Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa which should be ignored, Patriotic Front (PF) Media Director Antonio Mwanza has said.

Mr Mwanza said that some people were peddling lies about Mr Sampa’s suspension that he was being victimized but that such speculations should be ignored.

He said the acting PF president Mr Given Lubinda was categorical and that he followed the law and as a party all well-meaning members should follow the directive.

“I just want to urge members to ignore the malicious views that are being propagated on social media because they are meant to tarnish the image of the party,” Mr Mwanza said.

Mr Mwanza said some individuals were twisting information even when the acting president had even quoted the constitution.

And former PF Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo said the party was still united and there shall never be in divisions among its leaders and claims that the party is disintegrating were but a figment of those who are being haunted by the popularity of the party.

Mr Lusambo, says there shall be no division in the PF despite the party suspending Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa whose conduct is against the unity ethos the former ruling party stands for.

And Mr Lusambo said that the decision to suspend Mr Sampa was a collective decision that was made by the party after giving him time to exculpate himself.

“This decision was not made by an individual but the party as a collective grouping after giving Mr Sampa ample time to even exculpate himself,” he said.

Mr Lusambo said that the party was still strong and that there was no confusion in the PF but that if things were wrong, those claiming division in the former ruling party should be able to state the exact problem rather than speculating.

He said that it was unfortunate that Mr Sampa was suspended but that he was personally still close to the Matero Constituency lawmaker despite the action taken by the party.

“I’m still friends with Miles Sampa but if things are wrong I am supposed to talk in order to correct the problems,” Mr Lusambo said.

Mr Lusambo, the former Kabushi PF Member of Parliament said he personally campaigned for Mr Sampa when he stood as Lusaka Mayor which he managed to deliver.

Featuring on 5 FM Radio, Mr Lusambo said the governing party, the UPND should not worry about what was happening in the PF but should be concerned with their failure to deliver their promises.

He said there was a political perception being created that the PF was divided when the factr was that the former ruling party had become more united after losing the 2021 general elections.
