GOVERNMENT has instructed inspector general of Police Kakoma Kanganja to extradite disgruntled UK based UPND cadre Larry Mweetwa for allegedly inciting other party members to continue burning down public property until their leader Hakainde Hichilema is released from incarceration.

Mweetwa is alleged to have posted on his facebook page a congratulatory message for the people who had set Lusaka’s City Market on fire in and incited them to continue with the vice.

“Lusaka on fire, now as I speak due to HH arrest. Job well done bane lets intensify such actions and defend democracy” the facebook posting reads.

And minister of Home Affairs Stephen Kampyongo has instructed the inspector general to start the process of extraditing Mr Mweetwa.

Mr Kampyongo assured that Mweetwa  would be brought back to answer for his postings and face the full wrath of the law.

“Ba IG nalalombela pabantu pano, kuli mpulumushi imo kubulaya uku Larry Mweetwa. Bushe kuti ifintu fya chitika ifi iwe ulesefya, tulemukunkula (Mr IG I ask from you in front of these people, there is one confused person abroad, Larry Mweetwa, how can someone celebrate such misfortune, we must bring him back,” he charged.

Mr Kampyongo explained that Zambian authorities would ask for help from the authorities in the country were Mr Mweetwa was currently based to ensure that he was extradited.

The minister said this when he addressed distressed traders whose properties have been consumed in a fire that swept through Lusaka City market in the early hours of yesterday.

Meanwhile, New Congress Party (NCP) president Peter Chanda said that terrorists who had gone on rampage sabotaging public infrastructure had no heart for Zambia and that their days were numbered.

“The worst economic sabotage to the majestic City Market, Zambia’s largest public trading facility, comes barely 48 hours after unknown people destroyed electricity installations in Ndola during the just ended Zambia International Trade Fair” said pastor Chanda.

Pastor Chanda said there was no doubt that perpetrators were settling political scores but they had taken an evil route to air their grievances.
