I AM being threatened by UPND cadres for exposing the terror they have been perpetrating against Patriotic Front (PF) members in Kalomo, says PF district information and publicity secretary Frank Bwembya.

Mr Bwembya has however vowed not to be cowed by cowardly intimidations because he was fighting for the right of PF members to exist and carry out activities of their party without fear.

The Kalomo PF chief also rubbished a story reported by Voice of Kalomo radio, suggesting that he had retracted his earlier statement that PF members were being terrorised in the district.

He told the Daily Nation in an interview that he had been receiving death threats after revealing  that UPND cadres had been terrorising PF members in Kalomo.

Mr Bwembya reiterated that he was not a coward and that he would not retract anything because what he had
exposed was the truth.

He also disclosed that Voice of Kalomo radio queried him about giving the Daily Nation information that PF members were being terrorised in the district, but that he had refused to talk to them.

Mr Phiri has since distanced himself from any information reported by the radio station, adding that they had their own hidden personal agenda.

“I am not a coward like others, I’m not. I stood my ground, and I still stand my ground today. That nonsense which is circulating, I am not part of it and I have nothing to do with it,” he said.

Meanwhile. Mr Bwembya has maintained that he was not scared despite the threats he had continued to receive.

He reiterated that he was ready to put his head on the chopping board just to ensure that evil was exposed.

Mr Bwembya said that it was not fair that people should live in fear just because they belonged or supported a political party of their choice.

He said “enough” to the intimidation and harassment of PF members in the district and that it was high time someone stood firm and exposed the evil.

Mr Bwembya said that he was ready for anything and that no amount of intimidation would make him change his stance.
