GOVERNMENT has started tarring of township roads in Kawambwa District.
Kawambwa Central PF MP Nickson Chilangwa said a total of 20 kilometres of township roads would be tarred across the district.
Mr Chilangwa was speaking when he inspected the works on the St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School road.
“We want them (contractor) to start with this St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School road as our second from the town centre road which they did in 2015.”
“After this road they will go to the Ntulo Primary School road and that’s how we shall proceed. We have agreed they will give us the best roads,” said Mr Chilangwa.
Mr. Chilangwa, who is Luapula Province Minister, said government had awarded the contract to a Chinese Company, Uniq Zambia in 2015.
He said Unik Zambia were only resuming the works that had stalled in 2015 but that the company had now started until completion.
Mr. Chilangwa thanked government for giving Kawambwa a fair share of tarred township roads.
