LIONS CLUB OF FAIRVIEW GETS NEW BOARD

A NEW Board of Directors for the Lions Club of Fairview of Lusaka has been installed to run the affairs of its Lionistic Year 2017/2018.

Jones Mwangala was installed as president following a successful term of outgoing president, Lion Richard Sakala.

Richard Sakala who was in attendance with his wife Enid Sakala, who is the National Treasure for Lions Club Zambia welcomed the new board members.

He disclosed that the club donated about 70 desks to vulnerable pupils; carried out free eye screening at Evelyn Hone College where over 200 people were attended to; and made other charitable donations under his watch.

And district governor, Lion Jessica Chobe, administered the “swearing-in ceremony” of the new Board during the Installation ceremony on Friday evening at Mahaki Restaurant in Lusaka.

Other directors installed were Lion Sharon Ambulaya as the 1st vice president, Lion Amon Ng’andu as 2nd vice president, and Lion Chabu Matafwali as the 3rd vice president.

Others are secretary; Lion Chad Hakamangwe, Vice secretary Mizinga Sikaulu, treasurer; Jane M’kalipa, vice treasurer; Lion Rita Moyo, director 1st year; Lion Gervase Maipose, director 1st year; PDG Jawahar Patel, director 2nd year; PDG Lucky Chiyana, director 2nd year; Lion Jack Kakwela, tail twister; Lion Nkole Chota, tamer; Lion Bright Mutete, club service chairperson; Lion Davis Sikazwe, club marketing and communication chairperson; Lion Edwin Bwalya and Leo adviser/LCIF coordinator; Lion George Mupinde.

Lion Jessica challenged Lions Club of Fairview to take up all projects in the service framework, including alleviating hunger, diabetes and pediatric cancer.

Lion Richard Sakala also promised to work together with new board of directors to ensure that Fairview remained relevant with regard to helping the needy.
