PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says he is humbled to visit the old city of Jerusalem in Israel from where the Christian faith and Judaism started.

The President visited, among others, the Mount of Olives where Jesus was captured by the Jews, Golgotha where he was executed and the tomb where he spent three nights before resurrection.

He said the history of religion was centred on seeking the creator of mankind and the purpose of humanity.

The Head of State however said over the years people have distorted religion and politicised it, which has resulted in violence and killings.

And President Edgar Lungu has invited an Israeli company, ODIS Filtering, to assist Zambia with technology in the management of water.

He said the advanced technology in Israel could help Zambia to have water throughout the year.

The President said Zambia has abundant water which goes to waste due to lack of technology.

Urban areas are the worst hit in terms of water supply.

He said there was need for Israeli water experts to assess Zambia’s water systems following their successful activities in Zimbabwe.
