PF OFFICIALS BETRAYED LUNGU- THOSE HE ENTRUSTED WITH LEADERSHIP STABBED HIM IN THE BACK- PHIRI

By NATION REPORTER
FORMER president Edgar Lungu lost the August 12 election in a painful way because he was betrayed by the people he entrusted with leadership who messed up the campaigns.

PF East Province Information Publicity Secretary William Phiri charged that Mr Lungu was stabbed in the back by those he entrusted with responsibility to oversee his campaigns in the region.

He said in a statement that the people Mr Lungu brought closer never loved him and were living double lives.

Mr Phiri charged that those who were trusted with the presidential campaign decampaigned President Lungu by dinning with UPND candidates during the general elections.

He said Eastern Province had always been led by elders in politics who had failed to unite the party.

“We have betrayers who deserves no forgiveness. How can a normal person betray his own brother who meant well for him? Such politicians have the potential to sell their soul to the devil just to see their own elder brother suffer more,” he said.
Mr Phiri also said as PF was rebranding, double tongued people serving as Members of the Central Committee should be ejected.

He said it was time to speak out frankly in order to correct the mistakes that made PF lose the elections.

Mr Phiri explained that if the party had to rebrand, the party President should understand the pain of the people in the structures.
Mr Phiri commended a few bold senior members who had stood the test of time to help the party in rebranding.
