Musician Philip Daka and band tonight go live at Matero’s Monte Carlo Pub in an effort to revive authentic music performances in the area. Mr Daka who will be alongside one of the surviving member from the old time favourite group Impi, comes to Monte Carlo tonight to bring live music to Matero.

He is also using the opportunity to give enough experience and exposure to his newly formed band. His band comprises serious and dedicated musicians whose roles in music have not been emphasized because they have for a long time taken the back seat.

The band includes Patrick Banda, a bass player, Barnabas Ngoma a drummer and Danny Phiri on Piano. There is also Nick Maittis Ilunga on lead guitar, Manix Kazembe on rhythm guitar and Tendai Banda on vocals. Others also on backing vocals are Moreen Kanyata and Crocodile. Justine will double up both as a vocalist and dancer.

Daka is very excited to have this opportunity tonight in a show that is freely open to the public and starts around 20:00 hours. It is clear this show will bring a new touch to the club that has for some time been hosting artistes mainly doing play backs. Apart from Danny, Daka will be the only one to bring live music to Matero’s Monte Carlo.
