SCORES of families in Chief Mumena’s Chiefdom displaced following an alleged scandal in which 2,800 hectares of land was dubiously sold to an investors, are now crying for help from the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

The land in question is said to have been dubiously sold at over K4 million to an investor without the knowledge of the traditional ruler.

And investigations conducted by Daily Nation so far indicate that that the land in question extended into Chief Matebo’s chiefdom.

The affected families who stormed the office of the PF Provincial Chairperson Jackson Kungo, are relying on the ruling party as the only solution to their misery.

Mr Kungo guaranteed the families that the party would follow the matter and ensure that the interest of the people were protected.

He said the Ministry of Lands should quickly move in and consider conducting a land audit.

“Because in as much as we need investors the land is way too vast.

“So, as a party we are going to stand with the people so that they are not disadvantaged, “he said.

He also thanked the Mumena royal establishment for exposing the scam.

“Now it’s up to relevant government wings to take up the challenge and intervene. But as a party we are going to stand with the people, “ he said.

He said the issue at hand is very serious hence the need to bring the culprits to book.
