WE demand for the immediate removal of Eastern Province permanent secretary Chanda Kasolo, his deputy Patrick Mwanawasa, and Chipata district Commissioner Kalunga Zulu because they are working with opposition elements and not helping the party in any way, the PF provincial leadership has demanded.

Addressing the media yesterday, provincial secretary Joseph Kolosa accused the trio of working with people in the opposition.

He questioned the continued awarding of contracts to two well-known UPND sympathisers at the expense of those who had laboured for PF and had the capacity to fulfil the same contractual obligations.

Mr. Kolosa accused the duo of rubbishing efforts by the party structures to seek audience with them to air their views by allegedly telling them to “go to hell” .

As a result of their attitude towards the party, the leadership had seen it fit for the trio to be removed from their positions so that sober-minded individuals could take over and help the party.

Mr Kolosa said  on many occasions, the party had attempted to have a mutual dialogue with the trio but the party had been told ‘’to get lost and go to hell’.

But Mr. Zulu has described allegations levelled against him as weird and wished those who relished his hounding out of office good luck as he had not done anything wrong to warrant such kinds of attacks as he was in good standing with the party at district level.

“I have just been told that they are demanding for our removal but all the grounds they are advancing against me as an individual are baseless. I am a DC. Do I handle the issue of contracts? I don’t do procurement for Government and so their claims are baseless and lack merit. As a matter of fact, I have a very good working relationship with the district party leadership,” Mr. Zulu said.
