MY experiences and those of my colleagues being incarcerated has not broken us, but strengthened us in our resolve for a better Zambia, United Party for National Development (UPND) president, Hakainde Hichilema has said.
Speaking during a thanks giving service for his release and five other colleagues held at the Cathedral of The Holy Cross in Lusaka yesterday, Mr Hichilema thanked the general populous for support rendered to him and five others during their incarceration.
He said the support rendered during their incarceration was not limited to the UPND only but to the country as a whole.
“Brethren I say this because it is crystal clear in my mind that this unwavering support was not limited to UPND as a Party, but was across our great nation. Love, and prayers came from across the country which shows oneness among Zambians despite some individuals bringing about divisions,” he said.
He said the affection shown during their incarceration was more divine and important than mere political subscriptions.
He claimed that despite being arrested without any offence, he had forgiven all that were involved in his incarceration and would not pay evil for evil.
