Senior Patriotic Front (PF) party officials including Cabinet Ministers fear for the party which they felt had been hijacked by people with selfish motives.

They disclosed to the Daily Nation that most PF Members of Parliament were not happy with the happenings in the party and have warned that people like Wynter Kabimba should brace themselves for harder times because they were ready to take him on.

This follows revelations that some senior PF ministers have described as unfair and unjustified the seven day ultimatum given to Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda by Kabimba to exculpate himself on issues that are unclear.

The Ministers said it was very unfortunate that Mr Kabimba had turned the party into a personal arena and playroom where there was no reason and order.

They said the behaviour being exhibited by Mr Kabimba was bad and warned that things would soon turn against him because most party members were not happy.

The law makers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, argued that the Secretary General was not the party and reminded Mr Kabimba that all past secretaries failed because they felt that they owned the party.

They said the issues that were being raised by Mr Kabimba were lies and challenged him to state why he has taken such a step against the Kabwata Parliamentarian and also by using the people in his constituency.

“We know it is a ploy to hound Lubinda out of the party. But we are challenging Mr Kabimba to explain the real reasons for his actions.

“Mr Lubinda does not talk to him, Emmanuel Chenda and Sylvia Masebo for reasons that they know better.

“Let him not pretend as if there was nothing going on in that group of there’s but we feel that accuse a person of things that they know anyone else could have done is not fair.

“Why can’t Mr Kabimba just say the problem he has with Given, we are always there and we are aware of what is happening so we ask Mr Kabimba to be honesty and stop dragging people into issues that were unclear,” the ministers said.

Also they said the MPs were observing with interest and wondered why President Sata was quite when he knows exactly what has been happening in the party.

The said that it was evident that whichever party member disagrees with them on certain issues then that person becomes a target and serious efforts are made to frustrate such individuals.

“Instead of Wynter picking a fight with other senior ministers why can’t he tell us who was behind the exportation of maize in the country, can he tell the nation what percentage or cuts some people got via foreign accounts and also let him tell why there is a crisis of Mealie meal in the country?
