UNRULY and disloyal officials will continue to leave the Patriotic Front (PF) on their own for fear of being disciplined after exposure of their treacherous activities, PF Copperbelt provincial chairman Stephen Kainga has said.

And PF Copperbelt provincial youth vice chairman Stanley Mulumbwa has resigned from his position to pave way for others to serve the party.

Mr Kainga said the party in the province would not be shaken by some party officials who chose to save their faces by resigning from their positions for fear of being disciplined for allegedly being disloyal to the party leadership.

He did not refer to any specific incident but added that the PF needed loyal and committed leaders. He said those who wanted to betray the party and President Edgar Lungu, would not be entertained.

“It does not make sense to have a lot of people who are undisciplined and disloyal to the party leadership. You are better off with a few loyal and committed followers because discipline is cardinal in any organization. As a party, we are not shaken when some of these disloyal and undisciplined party officials resign from their positions or from PF,” Mr. Kainga said.

Mr Kainga said any person who rushed to resign before a verdict was passed would be perceived to have a guilty conscience.

“If a person is not guilty of having committed an offence, he should not cry before a verdict is passed,” he said.

And Mr. Mulumbwa confirmed his resignation from the party position, but pledged loyalty to President Edgar Lungu.

Asked if he would join the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Mulumbwa said he was merely paving the way for others, adding that if he wanted to join NDC, he would have joined the opposition party a long time ago.

But PF sources told the Daily Nation that Mr. Mulumbwa had always been at loggerheads with provincial youth chairman Nathan Chanda.
