…bygones are bygones, says Mwila

We have resolved to cease all hostilities, stop the fighting to unite and build the party after several meetings and consultations between me and the Patriotic Front (PF) party, says Kabwe central MP, Tutwa Ngulube.
Speaking to the Daily Nation in an interview, Mr Ngulube confirmed that the PF had agreed to lift his suspension while he also agreed to drop the court proceedings against the party.
The Kabwe Central law marker said going forward, he and the party would sit down and resolve everything outside court so that they can speak as brothers and unite as one.
“We have agreed that the party will lift the suspension and drop all activities and programs they had put up against me and in turn I will also drop the court proceedings and thereafter we will sit down and resolve everything outside court,” said Mr Ngulube.
He stated that the reconciliation was being done in the spirit of unity and dialogue for the benefit of the people of Kabwe.
Mr Ngulube further said he has decided to apologize for the statements he had been issuing in the media which the party considered offensive to the PF leadership.
He has however said he was not happy with some people who had received the apology with mixed feelings saying as far as he was concerned, he was right to do so because it has been done in the interest of the PF and himself to promote unity in the party.
Mr Ngulube said at the end of the day, reconciliation was the only way development can come to Kabwe unlike being at loggerheads with government.
“Some people are saying am wrong to apologize and withdraw the case when it’s me that has lost money in the process of filing and withdrawing the case. And how do you force someone to drag the matter when you know the people you are actually dealing with are ready to sort the issue outside court?” said Mr Ngulube.
The Kabwe central MP also apologized to all those party members he might have offended saying as an elected representative of the people it was his duty to iron out issues affecting them because for him it is about the cry of the people of Kabwe.
Mr Ngulube further said as MP, he should not feel intimidated to speak for his people when there was a problem because that was the reason why he was voted into office.
And PF secretary general, Davis Mwila yesterday told journalists in Lusaka that the party had reconciled with Mr Ngulube and agreed to let bygones be bygones.
He however, reiterated the need for discipline among members and for people to use the internal channels of communication.
Mr Mwila said Mr Ngulube had apologised over his conduct and the party had accepted his apology after deliberations over the issue.
At the same briefing, Mr Mwila assured street vendors that alternative trading would be found for everyone and asked that they be patient.
