PASSING running comments in Parliament while Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili was on the floor speaking landed Copperbelt Minister and Kabushi MP, Bowman Lusambo in trouble as he was chased from the House.

First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Namugala ordered Mr Lusambo to leave the Chambers after he passed running commentaries while Mr Kambwili was debating the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) budget.

Mr. Lusambo at one point shouted “Golf Course” as Mr. Kambwili was debating on the ACC budget.

Ms Namugala said Mr Lusambo would be back in the House today (Friday)

And Vice-President Inonge Wina has reaffirmed Government’s resolve in the fight against corruption stating that the State has not diverted from its stance of zero tolerance to the scourge. Ms Wina said this yesterday in Parliament in her policy statement for the ACC’s K85 million budget for 2018 which was passed by the House.

Leader of the Opposition Jack Mwiimbu in supporting the budget said the Austria based Kapsch TrafficCom a 17-year nationwide concession contract for the design, installation and operation of systems and solutions for traffic surveillance, vehicle speed enforcement, vehicle inspection and vehicle registration smelled of corruption.

Mr Mwiimbu who is Monze Central UPND MP said the project which would run as a joint venture with Zambia’s Lamise Trading Limited would make $200 million profit within the 17 years.

Kanchibiya PF MP Dr Martin Malama who is former Inspector General of Police said the ACC should investigate everyone whether in the corridors of power or not.
