KATEKA RAPS UPND ON U-TURNS

By NOEL IYOMBWA
Too many U-turns on the many promises made by the UPND does not give people the confidence that we are dealing with an honest government, New Heritage party president Chishala Kateka has charged.
Ms Kateka said there is no clear roadmap of how government intends to reduce the sufferings of the Zambian people.
She said policy direction for government is not very clear and seems to be contradictory adding that pronouncements and actions seem not to be speaking to each other.
Ms Kateka further noted that composition of media team at State House does not seem to liaise with the Government Spokesperson, the Alliance Spokesperson and the Party Spokesperson.
She charged that the media expose the President to ridicule because they are not well coordinated.
“Over-dependence on the West is also another issue thus the country not at liberty to make decisions that work for Zambia and Zambians.
“The UPND government have continued to strike at the PF when they are no longer in opposition,” he said.
She however observed that President Hichilema does communicate his thinking with citizens.
Ms Kateka noted that the pronouncements by the UPND government show the right intent and that it is good that Cadrerism is now not at the level that it was although it still exists it is now an underground issue.
She further observed that President Hichilema has created an aura of someone that is in control and that people feel more free under UPND and than under the PF Government.
