Lundazi youths take solidarity walk for HH

THREE youths of Lundazi have pleaded with the Zambian people to give President Hakainde Hichilema time to deliver on his promises, stating that it took them 15 days to walk from Lundazi to Lusaka and so development cannot also happen in a day.
Team leader, Bremina Ng’ona, 36 disclosed that the three did not belong to any political party, but were concerned youths. He said that their long-walk was motivated by sentiments that were being expressed by many who felt disappointed that the UPND was not delivering on its promises.
Ng’ona, Suzyo Nyirenda and Harrison Banda, all of Lundazi, arrived at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport roundabout in Chelstone, Lusaka at 16:30 hours on Friday .
Ng’ona appealed to the people of Zambia to exercise patience as President Hichilema undertakes to restore the economy among many of his promises.
He stressed that the President must be given time to deliver on his promises because no meaningful development can come within a space of two months. He said that the team decided to walk from Lundazi in order to show t case that development cannot happen in a day.
He however acknowledged that youths were desperately looking for the free education and job promises, but said that this required a systematic approach to fulfill.
He said that all the promises made by the President while in opposition cannot be realized in less than two months that Mr Hichilema has been in office. He was however optimistic that the aspirations of the youths and women who were very expectant would begin to unfold once the UPND budget is unveiled.
And Chongwe constituency UPND vice chairman in charge of politics, Trywell Njekwa said that those who were arguing that the UPND had failed were being unrealistic.
